Key responsibilities

HelpAge International is seeking an Emergency Project Manager to manage the HelpAge response to the crisis in Dominican Republic with local partners ensuring older men and women are able to access basic needs and shelter support services through unconditional cash distribution.

The job holder will be responsible for project management and implementation, as well as supervising and supporting the partner in implementing the project activities. It is also expected that the Project Manager will establish a M&E framework including ensuring accountability mechanisms in place, compliance with Core Humanitarian Standards, and provide analysis of the impact of the intervention.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years’ experience working in emergency projects with a Master’s degree in a relevant field. It is essential to have proven experience in management of projects funded by institutional donors and good understanding of donor compliance, NGOs procedures, approaches and operations. You will also have experience of collaborating with and supporting international/local partner organisations.

You must have good communication skills with the ability to work remotely and willingness to travel within LAC region if and when required. The job requires excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Spanish.
