The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (Unión Internacional de la Conservación de la Naturaleza - UICN) is the world's oldest and largest international network for environmental protection. It is widely recognised that the indigenous peoples in Honduras are important players in the fight against climate change. One focus of the UICN's work is therefore to strengthen the rights of indigenous and Afro-Meso-American population groups in political decisions that affect their territories.
